Paneer Butter Masala Recipe

Since because of lockdown we can't go out and travel. this is some lockdown special post. well i tried to learn some new recipes. Now, i am sharing this with you so you might try it as well.

Ingredients :-

  • water(1cup)
  • Oil (1 tbsp)
  • red chopped Tomatoes 4-5
  • Onion 1 (Optional)
  • Bay leaf 1-2
  • Kashmiri whole Red Chillie 2-3
  • Cinnamon Sticks 1-2
  • Green Chillie 1-2
  • green Cardamon 4-5
  • Black Cardamon 1
  • Chopped Ginger 1 tbsp
  • Cashew nuts 1/2 cup

For Panner Butter Masala :

  • Butter 4-5 tbsp
  • Ginger paste 1 tbsp
  • Kashmiri red chili powder
  • Salt
  • Panner 700 gms
  • Fenugreek powder 1 tbsp
  • Garam Masala (a blend of ground spices)
  • Sugar
  • Creme 1/2 cup

Procedure For Gravy:


  • Put 1 tbsp oil in a pan, the heat should be medium, after the oil is heated put bay leaf, cinnamon stick, green cinnamon and saute for a few minutes.
  • Now put red chopped tomatoes Kashmiri whole red chilies or dried red chili, add 1-2 green chilies, chopped ginger, cashew nuts and water.
  • Now mix it and cook it for 20-25 min, cover the pan with a lid.
  • After this, the tomatoes should be little squashy, remove the bay leaf, cinnamon stick. (Cause it will make gravy darker in taste)
  • Let the mixture cool down. (Don't put Hot mixture or Masala in grinder)
  • Take a grinder and grind the masala to a smooth paste. (this paste should be as smooth as possible, if not you can use a strainer)


Procedure For Paneer Butter Masala:


  • Take a pan and put butter 4-5 tbsp. (at medium flame)
  • After the butter is melted.
  • Add 1 tbsp ginger paste and Kashmiri red chili powder.
  • Fry it for few seconds and don't let burn. we will get a nice red color.
  • Put the gravy paste in it and cook it for 5-7 min and stir occasionally.
  • Add the garam masala powder and sugar.(if you like or if it tastes too tangy depending on tomatoes)
  • Add creme and mix the gravy.
  • Add the small cubes of panner and add fenugreek powder or gently rub fenugreek in your palm.
  • Let it cook for 3-4 minutes and our panner butter masala is ready.
  • Put creme and coriander while garnishing.
